Terms and conditions

  • Porto Sidecar Tours is Licensed by the Portuguese Tourism Department with the number 130/2018.
  • Our Sidecar is a Ural motorcycle with a classic look but with all the modern safety features as brake discs and is fully licensed in Portugal for use with driver and two passengers.
  • All of our tours are with a driver/guide and passengers are not allowed to drive by imposition of Portuguese law. You will be provided with a mandatory helmet for the duration of the tour.
  • As a Porto Sidecar Tours passenger you are fully insured as is mandatory by law in Portugal. We have Passenger insurance that covers accidents, hospitalization if needed and even return to your country, we also have motorcycle insurance and legal liability insurance. Please don’t worry as we ride at a very slow pace to enjoy the city and João, your guide, is a professional driver with more than 20 years of experience.
  • All our tours are private and fully customizable to meet each passenger’s expectations and if not previously arranged our guide will begin the tour by trying to adjust it to your needs, none the less they all have a set duration that is always mentioned on the description when buying online on our website or in partners platforms. In case of a Tailor-made Experience that will be mentioned on the Proposal presented to you.
  • Porto has great weather with more than 250 days of sun a year, however, in the case of rain at the time of your sidecar tour, you can try to reschedule if available or cancel your booking (minimum notice 24hours: full refund). If the rain starts during the tour we have rain coats, blanket and goggles to help make you more comfortable but should you decide to stop the tour we will try to reschedule if available, if not available there will be no refund.
  • Cancellation policies: Minimum 7 days notice: 100% refund. Minimum 3 days notice: refund 50% of total value. Less than 3 days notice or NO-SHOW: no refund. If you bought your tour in one of our partners platforms ( i.e. TripAdvisor, etc.) please check with them for specific cancellation policies and fees.
  • We run our tours all year long. During the winter season the temperatures drop but the weather is mostly sunny and the sidecar motorcycle is equipped with windshields, blankets and rain coats so you will be perfectly comfortable (warm clothing required).
  • The visits to the historical landmarks are only on the exterior. Our aim is to give you a broad and deep overview of the city whilst experiencing the authentic local lifestyle. After the tour, you will be ready to explore further on your own, and visit the interior of your favorite landmarks with all of the information to make the most of it.
  • Our Tour prices are updated every year at 20th of February. When booking a Tour with a year in advance expect a different price and please check with us for new price.
  • All tours include a number of short stops all around the city to take photos and learn a little of the history, however, if you wish for longer stops (to visit museums, art galleries, shopping, walking or just to taste a Porto wine along the way…) you should book a Full Day Tour or a Tailor-made Experience.
  • We accept children as passengers but please notice that for safety reasons and by law in Portugal: children under 7 years old cannot ride a motorcycle; children from the age of 7 to 12 can ride as long they are accompanied by a parent or legal tutor but due to weight distributions issues in the motorcycle you should always confirm with us if its possible before booking. Children over 12 years old don’t need confirmation.
  • Any other questions or doubts not mentioned here, please contact us for clarification.
